"What if horror villains had their own fighting game. STREET SLASHER!" 💀🔪
CANDYMAN -
Candyman was the name of a prolific thought-provoking artist. His identity was later revealed as Todd Granville when his body was found in the middle of Cabrini Green, in a grotesque scenery.
Rumors grew bigger as the world tried to solve the mystery behind his death but it quickly became yesterday's news.
Decade went on and Candyman was back, painting the street in red of those who made a mockery of his name. Remember him, say his name. Candyman.
About the design -
Upon watching the original Candyman for the first time, last year. I had a big poetic and soft vibe coming from this character which is quite uncommon for antagonist in that genre. I had to capture the feeling I had.
A man who was painted as a monster and became one. A man who had to become a villain. I played into it by keeping the slick/classy look.
I turned the iconic hook into a swarm of bees taking shape into whatever Candyman wants. His ultimate form would be him, completely covered by bees and becoming a ghost-like entity.
Also in a way, the bees could symbolized the monster slowly consuming him, the more bees, the more he's getting trapped into madness.
